Defining the role of complementary and alternative medicine in Europe

Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) is any of a wide range of healthcare practices, products and therapies that usually are not part of mainstream health care. The CAMbrella project aims to explore and define the status quo of CAM in Europe and give informed guidance for future research across Europe.

Συρρικνώθηκε ακόμη περισσότερο στη διάρκεια του 2012 ο αριθμός των εκατομμυριούχων κερδοφόρων ελληνικών βιομηχανιών (αυτών, δηλαδή, που είχαν καθαρά κέρδη άνω του ενός εκατομμυρίου ευρώ). Μάλιστα, σε σχέση με το 2007, όταν είχαν ξεπεράσει τις 320, ο αριθμός τους μειώθηκε το 2012 κατά 64%, ενώ τα αθροιστικά κέρδη συρρικνώθηκαν κατά 70%.

Zenodo – Το αποθετήριο επιστημονικών δεδομένων της ευρωπαϊκής έρευνας

Τα Ευρωπαϊκά ερευνητικά δεδομένα είναι πλέον διαθέσιμα από ένα ενιαίο σημείο πρόσβασης μέσω της καινούργιας υπηρεσίας Zenodo.

Η Zenodo είναι το αποτέλεσμα συνεργασίας μεταξύ του ευρωπαϊκού έργου OpenAIRE και του CERN και υλοποιείται με χρηματοδότηση από την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή.

Most Sustainable Office in the World

In Munich, a newly erected office building, called the NuOffice, has been awarded an internationally recognised green design certification in platinum, called the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate.
Much effort has been put into its planning and construction to reach this high-level of sustainability, which makes it the most sustainable newly erected office building worldwide, according to LEEDS standards.

Studying the past to anticipate future fire hazards

A group of European researchers is exploring past changes in the interactions between climate, land-use and land-cover, as these relate to forest fires. Based on this, future changes in fire will be evaluated for scenarios of climate and other global change drivers.
