The GCSP Prize for Innovation in Global Security is designed to recognize and encourage excellence in projects that address global security challenges through innovative approaches. Hosted under the Creativity and Innovation Initiative of the GCSP’s Programme for Geopolitics and Global Futures, the prize seeks to highlight transformative ideas that transcend national boundaries. Whether through technological advancements, conceptual breakthroughs, original research, or grassroots initiatives, the competition invites submissions that offer novel contributions to sustainable global security. The prize emphasizes creativity, originality, and a commitment to preserving human dignity, security, and justice, making it a platform for visionary thinkers to present solutions with both short-term and long-term impact.
The competition is open to a wide range of participants, including individuals, groups of individuals, and organizations from both the private and public sectors, regardless of their country of origin. The only restriction is that employees and staff of the GCSP, as well as their family members, are not eligible to participate. Projects submitted must have a global reach, extending beyond national borders, and should demonstrate innovative or new ideas in addressing global security challenges. This broad eligibility ensures that diverse perspectives and solutions from around the world are considered, fostering a truly global dialogue on security innovation.
