Over the last 20 years, the Human Genome Project and similar initiatives have produced huge volumes of data, as well as a broad range of related software solutions and a skilled workforce. A new initiative is now striving to coordinate these bioinformatics resources and expertise to study non-human genomes.

Protection from prions
