Description
The Strasbourg World Forum for Democracy is an annual gathering of leaders, opinion-makers, civil society activists, representatives of business, academia, media and professional groups to debate key challenges for democracies worldwide. The The 3rd edition of the World Forum for Democracy “From participation to influence: can youth revitalise democracy?” will take place in Strasbourg.

This year the World Forum for Democracy will engage with young people and with decision-makers and opinion-formers in order to reflect on the patterns of exclusion and involvement and explore new ways of engaging young people in re-visioning today’s democracy. The Forum will also explore initiative and structures to successfully address the reasons for youth exclusion and create conditions for real youth influence.

The core activities of the Forum will consist of discussions about successful initiatives and actions for youth citizenship and participation, and new governance solutions to youth democratic inclusion. These initiatives and ideas will also be discussed in a series of creative laboratories (labs).

Tο Χρηματιστήριο Αθηνών σε συνεργασία με το Υπουργείο Οικονομικών, διοργανώνουν Συνέδριο με θέμα GR FOR GROWTH: FUNDING SMEs, υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Προεδρίας της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και της Ομάδας Δράσης της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης για την Ελλάδα.

Στο Συνέδριο θα παρουσιαστούν τα νέα εργαλεία για τη χρηματοδότηση ΜΜΕ στην Ελλάδα, ενώ παράλληλα οι φορείς χάραξης πολιτικής και οι συμμετέχοντες στην αγορά θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να συζητήσουν και να συμφωνήσουν μια κοινή στρατηγική και ένα σχέδιο δράσης με σκοπό τη βελτιστοποίηση των αποτελεσμάτων.

Ειδικότερα, στο συνέδριο θα παρουσιαστούν οι πρωτοβουλίες που έχει αναπτύξει το Χρηματιστήριο Αθηνών προκειμένου να δώσει λύσεις στο θέμα της χρηματοδότησης των ΜΜΕ, καθώς και οι σημαντικές πρωτοβουλίες που αναλαμβάνονται σε επίπεδο Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης προκειμένου να διευκολυνθεί η πρόσβαση των ΜΜΕ στη χρηματοδότηση, όπως τα προϊόντα χρηματοδότησης της Ευρωπαϊκής Τράπεζας Επενδύσεων και του Ευρωπαϊκού Ταμείου Επενδύσεων, η δημιουργία των European Venture Capital Funds, το νέο Πρόγραμμα για την Ανταγωνιστικότητα των Επιχειρήσεων και τις ΜΜΕ (COSME) και τα European Long Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs).

Το Συνέδριο αναμένεται να συγκεντρώσει διεθνές ενδιαφέρον, αξιωματούχων της ΕΕ και λοιπών ευρωπαϊκών οργάνων και οργανισμών, εποπτικών και ρυθμιστικών αρχών, κοινωνικών εταίρων, επιχειρηματικών συνδέσμων, νομικών, θεσμικών επενδυτών, χρηματοδοτικών φορέων κ.α.

11-13/06/2014 - 4th International Conference on Mobile, Adaptable and Rapidly Assembled Structures (Belgium)

Structures that move in the course of normal use, or which have to be assembled or erected rapidly on a relatively unprepared site, offer a particular challenge to the designer. The interaction between the structure and the mechanism by which it moves is essential in these cases. The speed of assembly and what this means in terms of logistics, materials and cost, is a major factor in many such structures.

Mobile and rapidly assembled structures play a major role in disaster mitigation and temporary accommodation. They are of primary importance in many military as well as civilian applications and are widely used for rescue and maintenance services.

There are common problems such as the efficient design of assembly joints, the resistance to damage of the membrane and metal cladding, crashworthiness and the limits of serviceability. Some areas of the subject are already well documented, but knowledge is fragmented and there is little design guidance available in the form of textbooks, data sheets or codes of practice.

This multi-disciplinary meeting will bring together engineers, architects and researchers concerned with the design, analysis, manufacturing and erection of rapidly assembled structures.
