The conference will serve as a new and innovative incubator for smart technology, smart systems and smart education/training and will provide an excellent platform for scholars, Ph.D. students, faculty, administrators and practitioners to meet experts and discuss innovative ideas and approaches.

Participants will focus on advances in smart technology and intelligent systems, state-of-the-art software and hardware systems, research findings and outcomes, best practices and case studies, national and international projects as well as institutional standards and policies. Registration is available all the way up until the conference and will cost up to EUR 600.

The 2014 Sustainable Irrigation conference will provide a unique forum for multidisciplinary discussion. The meeting aims to generate debate and ideas about how to improve irrigation and drainage systems, making them more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

Irrigation, as one of the most common uses of water in many regions of the world, is facing significant challenges in balancing the social, economic and environmental needs for water sustainability.

The purpose of the conference is to provide examples of how irrigation and drainage can become more sustainable. It will focus on areas such as drainage, irrigation technologies, economic modelling, irrigation management and reuse of water.

16-20/06/2014 - 8th INSPIRE Conference (Denmark)

The annual INSPIRE conferences relate to the 'Infrastructure of Spatial Information in the European Community' directive which entered into force in 2007. The conference brings together users, technology developers, data providers and policy makers from across the EU to discuss all aspects of INSPIRE.

This year's conference, 'INSPIRE for Governance', hosts some 30 workshops, five plenary sessions, and around 200 presentations in parallel sessions, as well as a poster session and exhibition.

The event is organised by the Joint Research Centre and Aalborg University. Registration is still open and costs EUR 200 for the five days.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Shortening the time-to-market - from short cycle times to continuous value delivery'. It will address researchers and practitioners, who are concerned with software business in different ways as well as the start-up community, which is increasingly focusing on mobile and social software.

The keynote speaker for the conference, KooPee Hiltunen, Director of Neogames Finland Assn, will be addressing what other industries could learn from the games industry. Early registration for the event will be open until 7 April and will cost around 725 EUR.
