A novel inspection system stirs things up

Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new process that is faster, and more energy-efficient and eco-friendly than conventional fusion welding techniques. It relies on frictional heat generated between the welding tool and the work piece materials to soften the metal followed by pressure to join the two pieces.
