This unique training course is aimed at enabling organisations to better understand and take advantage of the various European funding opportunities suitable for SMEs, equipping participants with the necessary skills and know-how to produce high-quality and successful SME Instrument proposals.
The training will firstly explore types of funding streams available to SMEs and help participants identify the most suitable options for their companies. Topics include the main funding streams in the Horizon 2020 Programme such as Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions; Industrial Leadership; SME Instrument; EUREKA Eurostars; Societal Challenges and Fast Track to Innovation. Other non-H2020 programmes (Erasmus+ -Traineeships; Knowledge Alliances Sector Skills Alliances) will also be considered.
Following this, the focus will be on the SME Instrument Programme, a significant funding opportunity for innovative, high-flying SMEs with European and Global ambitions. It also covers the key issues central to a well-presented SME Instrument Phase 1 proposal, the first out of the three-staged funding.
The course encourages an interactive approach and uses a mixture of lecture-style delivery, workshop activities and structured discussion. There is also ample opportunity for question and answer sessions. Extensive use will be made of case studies from RedKnight’s experiences globally to make the training as practical as possible.
At the end of this course, participants will be better equipped to produce a winning proposal by:
1. Appreciating the range of EC funding options available to small companies and identifying those most suitable;
2. Understanding the key elements of a well-constructed SME Instrument (SMEi) proposal;
3. Considering the approaches needed to deliver a proposal in a timely manner;
4. Understanding the evaluation processes used for SMEi proposals;
5. Learning best-practice from experts in the field of proposal development;
6. Networking with colleagues from all across Europe, sharing experiences and exchanging know-how.
