This course is the first of two modules in a training pathway entirely dedicated to the Horizon 2020 Programme. This first module will deal with techniques for successful project design, while the second (Milan, 22 -23 March 2016) will treat project management, IPR and contractual aspects, financial provisions, reporting rules and principles. It is possible to attend both courses or only one of them.
This training course will cover the following topics:
• Architecture and main pillars of Horizon 2020
• Horizon 2020 Funding Instruments
• Access to funding opportunities: reference websites (e.g. Participant Portal) and support made available by the European Commission (e.g. by means of the Enterprise Europe Network)
• Identifying calls for proposals and analysing their structure and requirements
• Proposal submission procedure: PPSS/SEP and information requested in different steps
• Partner search: suggestions and utilities supplied by the Commission
• Instructions to complete Proposal Submission Forms concerning the administrative and financial details of the proposal:
1. Preliminary information for preparing the project budget
2. Tutorial: drafting the budget of a project
• Introduction to project design: the main elements of a project; project design techniques
• Instructions to complete Proposal Submission Forms concerning the technical-scientific details of the proposal:
1. Planning project design
2. Identifying objectives, methodologies and expected results
3. Defining project impacts, dissemination strategies and methodologies for exploitation of results (in particular: Intellectual Property Rights, Confidentiality, Joint ownership, Protection of the results, Use of the results, Dissemination and Communication activities)
4. Defining Work-packages, tasks, deliverables and timing
5. Identifying risks and devising appropriate contingency measures
6. Identifying indicators of progress, milestones and sources of verification
7. Describing the consortium management structures, with an in-depth analysis of Innovation Management
8. Composition of an appropriate partnership; Describing the characteristics of the consortium as a whole and of the individual participants, defining how its members complement one another
• Tutorial: Drafting “transversal” Work-Packages (Management and Dissemination and exploitation of results)
• Horizon 2020 evaluation criteria
• Tips to elaborate a successful proposal.
The course specifically addresses the needs of professionals and project managers who are involved in the design of H2020 projects, both in the private and the public sector. The course can be an effective tool to help participants to successfully manage projects, as well as to further develop their internal project management strategies. It can also provide a good opportunity to network and to share good practices.
THE COURSE WILL BE HELD IN ITALIAN. Courses can also be offered in English on demand.

COURSE FEE FOR ATTENDANCE ONLY TO THE FIRST MODULE (17th -19th February 2016): €1200+VAT.
FEE FOR WHO WILL ATTEND BOTH MODULES (17th -19th February 2016 and 22nd -23rd March 2016): €1800+VAT (i.e.: €1200+VAT for the first module and €600+VAT for the second module).
The fee includes tuition, documentation (both in printed and electronic format), certificate, morning coffees and lunches.
