In today's challenging economic climate, many governments in EU and beyond, as well as in Greece, are targeting the health care system to increase efficiency and to curtail expenditure in the context of broader austerity programs. Within the framework of the Hellenic EU Presidency, a discussion on long-term sustainability and health care reforms throughout Europe for the benefit of its citizens is more than urgent, as it is timely to ensure that short-term priorities are not met at the expense of long-term value.
This requires a coordinated approach and the collaboration of a broad diversity of stakeholders from across and beyond the health sector.
During this high-level one-day conference, health system leaders will debate on the future of health care, the new role of its stakeholders, access to innovation, as well as the financing of health services, exchanging good practices and expanding their vision from the status quo to deliver high quality, full-access, affordable, sustainable health services.
