Leaders are made not born. As a leader, you need the support of your team, peers and seniors and you have to interact with them. To gain their support, you must be able to understand and motivate them.
The role of the team leader is to create an environment in which the team can first develop properly and then perform to its full potential. This is a very demanding role. Some teams work remotely and for limited periods of time, as is the case with many business or research projects. Some teams need to sustain their performance over longer periods of time such as administrative teams. Some teams work internationally. Team leaders therefore need a variety of skills besides their specialist knowledge of a subject. This includes the ability to motivate and empower people; an understanding of team dynamics; cross-cultural awareness; and an understanding of how the work of the team fits to the goals of the organisation as a whole.
The workshop provides the skills modern team leaders need to interact with their teams and a toolbox to help them apply those skills effectively.
It is designed for all professionals who are in charge of teams or those who want to prepare themselves for future jobs and limited to 12 participants in order to ensure a high quality standard.
