'Sustainable Energy Week', Brussels, Belgium
Event date:2013-06-24
The 'Sustainable Energy Week' will be held from 24 to 28 June 2013 in Brussels, Belgium.
Buildings are responsible for more than 40% of global energy consumption. The ways in which we light, heat and construct buildings increase carbon emissions. Therefore improving the energy-efficiency of buildings is vital to safeguarding the environment and reducing the negative impacts of climate change.
This year's EU Sustainable Energy Week will illustrate how, since 2005, 58 cities and communities from across Europe found solutions to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and to supply renewable energy from on-site sources. Sessions will include presentations on the results and impact of these projects.
The event will bring together public organisations, mayors, energy agencies and associations active in the energy field. Participants can expect to learn more about the EU's energy and climate objectives.
