A conference entitled 'Identities and Identifications: Politicized Uses of Collective Identities' will take place from 18 to 20 April 2013 in Zagreb, Croatia.

The conference will discuss collective identities research, to bring once more into debate the processes of identity making, identity building in both constructivist or de-constructivist dimensions. The conference will open the floor to dynamic, multi-dimensional and inter-disciplinary understandings of identities in their historic context and in the way they shape the present and future of organizations or communities.

A lecture entitled 'Developing new solar cells - cheaper, or more efficient' will take place on 17 April 2013 in London, UK.

The lecture will focus on how the performance of these devices can be improved by understanding and controlling the complex nanostructures that allow charges to be extracted from the active layer. It will also present a new approach that might make it possible to break the 34% efficiency limit that applies to all simple solar cells. This could be done by extracting the energy from the blue and green parts of the solar spectrum that is usually wasted.

The Seventh International Forum 'Science & Technology Days Poland-East' will be held from 17 to 19 April 2013 in Suwalki, Poland.

Initiated by Poland and Sweden, the Eastern Partnership is meant to complement by provide an institutionalised forum for discussion with the EU's eastern neighbours, which notably targets the creation of research partnerships with these countries.
