Nano-structured solid materials containing lithium can be conductive and form the basis of many energy conversion devices. Scientists are investigating structure–function relationships for the rational design of improved products.

The role of fungi in soil carbon accumulation

A major determinant of climate change is the rate at which carbon (C) accumulates in soils and whether they will switch from being a C sink to a C source. New research has shed light on the role of certain fungi in decomposing organic matter into soil carbon.

Novel methods for quantifying PI3K pathway activity

Τhe PI3K SYSTEMS BIOLOGY study focused on the in-depth analysis of kinase pathways in health and disease. Researchers performed high-throughput analysis of the phosphorylation sites of various proteins upstream or downstream of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) enzyme.
