The secretariat of the European Technology Platform for Electricity Networks of the Future, also called SmartGrids ETP, supported the operation of this platform. The platform is helping guide research and innovation in smart electricity networks.

In recent years, biometrics techniques have enabled sophisticated security applications that can collect huge amounts of data about people by using their unique genetic information. A series of international meetings with global decision makers discussed the ethical and political implications of employing such far-reaching technologies.

Bacterial reproduction without a cell wall

Growing robuster wheat

The CAREBREED project supported high-quality training in uses of molecular marker technologies and phenotyping. Progress in this area will benefit small-grain cereals breeding by allowing the characterisation of unique wheat genetic stocks.
