The FP7-funded RIFLEX project has produced a system that is capable of non-destructively inspecting a larger cross-section of a railhead and automatically logging defects at speeds up to 70mph.

Οι υπάρχουσες μπαταρίες λιθίου-οξυγόνου τραβούν τον αέρα ώστε να προκληθεί μια χημική αντίδραση -ταυτόχρονα με τη χρήση της μπαταρίας- η οποία στη συνέχεια απελευθερώνεται προκειμένου να αντιστρέψει και πάλι τη δράση για την επαναφόρτιση της μπαταρίας.

Ερευνητές υποστηρίζουν ότι δημιούργησαν μια νέα τεχνολογία στις μπαταρίες, αυτή του λιθίου-οξυγόνου, η οποία θα μπορούσε να παρέχει περισσότερη αυτονομία στα ηλεκτρικά οχήματα, αλλά και τις φορητές συσκευές.

SMEs and research organisations in the EU-funded SHREDDERSORT project have developed and demonstrated a new industrial sorting system to separate non-ferrous shredder scrap into cast aluminium (Al), wrought Al, and non-Al categories. Compared to the unsorted material, the sorted categories are better suited for recycling into secondary metals, have a higher market value, and will reduce the use of raw materials.

A consortium of six R&D centres in the Basque Autonomous Community, Navarre and France are participating in the European CYCLALG project to drive forward an algae-based biorefinery which aims to develop and validate technological processes designed to obtain biodiesel through algae cultivation.
