Cloud innovations signal the future for urban mobility

A ground breaking EU project has delivered a cloud-based platform along with a range of apps and tools to help get European cities moving sustainably.

Whilst cities across Europe are waking up to the economic, social and environmental benefits of sustainable urban transport, communicating to citizens the options that are available remains a challenge. In order to address this, an existing cloud-based platform has been combined with new functionalities to enable local authorities and businesses across Europe to provide cutting edge online services for citizens and customers.

The International Research Doctorate in “General Theory of the process: administrative, civil, constitutional, penal and fiscal”, in convention with the John Naisbitt University of Beograd (Serbia) and the South East European University – Macedonia has the aim to face the processual subject according with a multidisciplinary and transversal perspective.

A diagnostic tool allows encephalitis in sheep and goats to be spotted

The biologist Idoia Glaria-Ezquer has developed a diagnostic tool specifically for detecting encephalitis caused by small-ruminant lentiviruses in sheep and goats; its epidemiological interest lies in the fact that it enables the spread of highly pathogenic lineages affecting flocks to be controlled; the disease leads to economic losses and there is no treatment or vaccine to combat it. This research was part of her PhD thesis read at the Public University of Navarre (NUP/UPNA).

Έλληνες ερευνητές της ΙΒΜ δημιούργησαν τεχνητούς νευρώνες

Ερευνητές της ΙBM Research στη Ζυρίχη της Ελβετίας, με επικεφαλής τον Ευάγγελο Ελευθερίου, δημιούργησαν τεχνητούς νευρώνες που μιμούνται τη λειτουργία των πραγματικών (βιολογικών) νευρώνων, χρησιμοποιώντας ειδικά υλικά -τα λεγόμενα «αλλαγής φάσης»- για την αποθήκευση και την επεξεργασία των δεδομένων.
