Researchers design a toolkit to improve the education offered to senior citizens

"The project EduSenior can be used as an evaluation and accreditation system for an educational institution but also to improve its quality and for other institutions, researchers and associations to be aware of the potential of education in the elderly and to help implement similar actions» explained Pilar Escuder Mollón, coordinator of the Senior Citizens’ University at the Universitat Jaume I (Spain). The toolkit will now be validated in all the institutions involved in the project and some external ones. After validation, the partners will publish an improved version.

The German turbomachinery sector is booming. Over the past 25 years, it has doubled its share of the global market from 15 to 30 percent. For manufacturers, the service business – i.e. maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) – is steadily growing in importance. The blades in compressors and turbines are subject to particularly high levels of stress and strain. The job of the blades is to convert fluid energy into mechanical energy. They ensure that aircraft engines generate the required thrust and that power plant generators produce sufficient electricity.
