Landmark EU-Russia study to shed new light on heart disease

Heart disease is one of the world's biggest health-care, social and economic challenges. It is often associated with other conditions, such as diabetes and obesity. Researchers are now trying to determine how these conditions interact in an effort to better identify people at high risk and to improve treatment.

Making 3D television an everyday reality

A new image processing technique has been developed that allows viewers to watch 3D television while moving freely around the room, without the need for special glasses. This could lead to superior 3D television viewing at a competitive cost.

Understanding how our brain works

SPACEBRAIN project scientists were particularly interested in how our brain combines motion-related information with visual information to obtain coherent representation of our location in space. Project results have important ramifications for understanding and treating many neurological diseases.
